Folding Bike Escepades

#cycling

Deciding to fold

For context, I live in an area where I can get a tram (metro) into work. However, to reach the nearest tram stop, I either have a fast 25 minute walk along a really nice cycle route in a forrest, or an 8 minute car ride. Both are sort of fine but both come with inconveniences.

  • Rush hour driving is just awful and it’s bad for the environment.
  • Walking that fast with a rucksack with a heavy 16-inch macbook makes you overheat quickly.

If only there was a better solution!

Deciding on a bike

I decided to get a folding bike because if, when I get to the tram stop, the bike store is full, I can just take the bike onto the tram.

I ended up going with a second hand ‘Raleigh Stowaway’ at half the market price. It’s a great little bike, even with the bit of offroading that’s on my way to work.
